    Arabic Calligraphy
November 2008 - May 2009

The written word is one of the most important intercultural inventions. It has been used by generations for centuries to pass knowledge, wisdom and heritage down to the next generation. An Arabic calligraphy teacher worked on behalf of PCS to transfer the ancient skills, and provide young and old an opportunity to read, write, think, examine, question and research in this beautiful and ancient tradition.

PCS has developed the following partnerships across the North East, where calligraphy workshops have so far taken place: Millin Centre, EMTEP, Unity Peace Festival, Sunderland, Nineveh group and PCS Islamic Arts & Heritage festival at Discovery Museum. The project is ongoing and any group is welcome to book a session by contacting  PCS.
