Stockton Carnival an outstanding success
Stockton International Festival Community Carnival 2009
PCS was delighted to become involved with Stockton Community Carnival 2009. Working in partnership with Cornerhouse Youth Project, PCS supported a group of young people who created vibrant and colourful carnival costumes, together with the artistic guidence of professional artist Lisa Bean.
The theme of the 2009 Stockton Community Carnival was ‘Small Wonders, Big World’, which reflected how children and young people grow and see the world around them.
On the day of the parade, which was Saturday 1 August, the young people from Cornerhouse Youth project lead a procession of over 1000 young people, which enthralled the crowd lining the route down the High Street in Stockton on Tees. The carnival finished up at Trinity Green for a spectacular finale performance.
